Vedic Dharma and the Grhastha-āśrama (English): Vol-I

This book is compiled from the lectures by the great Bhakta Bhagavata His Divine Grace Śrila Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja, a swan-like personality, whose only aim in life was to inculcate and spread the teachings of Mahaprabhu to one and all. Personalities like His Divine Grace are rare agents of the Lords mercy in this world. Such bhakta bhagavatas are pure devotees who are absorbed in bhakti-rasa, the mellows of loving devotion and are themselves the epitome of humility. In the Sri Caitanya-caritāmṛta Antya-līlà 5.131 it is written:

"If you want to understand Srimad-Bhagavatam, you must approach a self realised Vaisnava and

study it under his guidance while at the same time, taking exclusive shelter of the lotus feet of Lord Chaitanya."

'Vedic Dharma and Grhastha-aśrama' is a series of lectures, elaborating on the purports of Srila Prabhupada, delivered by His Divine Grace explaining the system of varnaśrama-dharma and how it functions in the society, the basic Vedic rules and regulations, and the purpose of Vedic marriage, to assist us on our path of hari-bhajana! His Divine Grace Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja was a practical teacher, he did not teach only theoretically.

This publication has been manifested through the combined efforts of many admirers, followers and disciples of His Divine Grace. We wish to please him with our insignificant endeavours and pray for his vaiṣṇava-krpā, for this is the only way out of Sagitt this dreadful ocean of material existence. We hope that all who read this book will greatly benefit from it.
